Node ID CAN Bus Module
For communication with the EasyNO
ₓ
via the CAN bus, the correct node ID be set on the CAN bus
module. Set the node ID of the CAN bus module via the DIP switches
Modul-ID
as follows:

Device Setup EasyNO
ₓ
For each CAN bus/NO
X
sensor module you use, add a NO
X
monitor (display name
NOx
) in the
Device Setup
view of the EasyNO
ₓ
(see section
Adding a Device
on page 83). Set up your EasyNO
ₓ
system in such a way that the first NO
X
monitor (
NOx:1
) monitors the first engine and the second
NO
X
monitor (
NOx:2
) monitors the second engine.
7.3
CAN Bus Wiring CAN1
The CAN bus interface CAN1 of the EasyNO
ₓ
connects the EasyNO
ₓ
to a CANopen
®
network. This
CANopen
®
network is used to connect the EasyNO
ₓ
to an optional I/O communication module
and other devices supported by the EasyNO
ₓ
. The EasyNO
ₓ
functions as NMT master in the CAN-
open
®
network.
The wiring of the CAN bus requires three conductors (CAN Hi, CAN Lo, and CAN Com). The con-
ductors for CAN Hi and CAN Lo must be twisted wires. At a bit rate of 250 kbit/s, the bus may on-
ly have a maximum wire length of 250 m (820') and must be terminated at both ends by a termi-
nating resistor of 120 Ω between the CAN Hi and CAN Lo conductors to prevent reflections. Use
shielded CAN cables only.
