Basic operations

How to turn the phone on and off

Press and hold the  

button, located on the bottom left corner.

How to place a call

Please note:

You will need to be outside with a clear view of the sky, away

from tall structures to place a call.

1. Rotate and extend the antenna to the angled 45° position, shown

below.

2. Press         and hold for two seconds.
3. Enter the country code for the country you are calling.
4. Enter the phone number and press     .

An international access prefix must be used when dialing phone
numbers in Satellite Mode.

Please note:

Calls made from the phone can be up to $12.99 per minute.

How to answer a call (with antenna rotated and 
extended to 45°)

1. When you receive a call,

Call

will be displayed on the screen

followed by 

Answer?

2. Press      to answer. To end the call press     .

How to answer a call (with antenna stowed)

1. The phone will alert you there is an incoming call.
2. Rotate and extend the antenna to the 45° angle.
3. The phone will ring.
4.

Call

will be displayed on the screen followed by 

Answer?

5. Press      to answer. To end the call press     .

How to recall the last ten numbers dialed

1. Press      until you see 

Phone Book

.

2. Press     .
3. Use      to scroll to 

Last Ten Calls

and then 

press      to select.

4. Use      to scroll to 

Last Calls Made

and then 

press      to select.

5. Use      to scroll to the number you are looking for.
6. Press      to place a call to that number.

Voicemail

Due to the nature of the Iridium system, voicemail messages will not be
automatically delivered to the phone. After a new message has been left,
it will not be delivered until a call is made or received on the phone.

To eliminate this, a 

FREE

call can be made at any time to the Iridium

test number. This allows you to receive any new voicemail messages left
since the phone was last used.

How to dial the Iridium test number

1. Dial 

1234

.

2. You will hear a short message welcoming you to the Iridium system.

During this time, any new text or voicemail messages will be
delivered to the phone.

3. End the call once you have listened to the welcome message two times.

When you receive a new voicemail message a      will appear on 
the screen.

How to retrieve your voicemail

1. Press the      key.
2.

Call Voicemail Select?

will be displayed, press     .

3. You will be asked to enter your Iridium Satellite phone number 

(this is the 8816 **** **** number on the back of the handset).

4. Interrupt the next message by pressing        .
5. You will be asked to enter the password (this is the last 7 digits of

the phone number).

6. You will now be in the Main Menu.

Special features

How to adjust the earpiece volume

Press the upper and lower volume keys on the side of the phone.

How to adjust the ringer volume

Press      then the upper and lower volume keys.

How to clear the last digit in the display or exit a submenu

Press     .

How to clear the entire display or exit the menu system

Press and hold     .

How to lock the keypad 

Press the         and        keys simultaneously to lock the keypad and
prevent accidental usage of the phone. All keys, with the exception of
the      button, will be disabled. You can still answer an incoming call by
pressing      when the keypad is locked.

To remove the keypad lock, press the         and         keys
simultaneously.

How to display your phone number on screen

Press      then        .
