The display shows icons that indicate the current transmitter status (battery, connection, signal)
and mode (recording/muted, Covert, vibrate/beep/silent). For more information about the display

Display backlight button
The
Display Backlight
button is on the top of the transmitter next to the display. When you press
this button, the background of the display lights up, allowing you to see the display icons better,
especially in low-light conditions. When you press the button, the display backlight turns on for ten
seconds.
