4.3 Lateral, PA, and 45° Angle Exposures

Use the Up and Down switches to raise or lower the unit so that
the ear rods are line up with the patient’s outer ear orifice.
• When lowering the cephalo unit and cephalo support, take care that it does not
hit the patient.
• Move the ear rod plates very carefully when inserting the ear rods. Do not raise
or lower the cephalo unit after inserting the ear rods. Otherwise, the patient
could be injured.
• If the patient moves during emission, the detector or the slit might hit him
resulting in image distortion or some other exposure failure.
Before inserting the ear rods warn the patient not to move until
the exposure is finished.
Insert the right ear rod first (

Then carefully close the ear rod plates with both hands and care-
fully insert the left ear rod (
