• If two people raise the commode chair, avoid contesting in points dangerous for the patient as
footrests and armrests, but use only the frame and rear handles.
9.1 Brakes

Lock the wheels of the chair before you ascend, descend, stretch
forward. The brakes are operated by pressing the lever on all wheels
of the chair (Fig. 1).

9.2 Wheels
The wheels must be periodically checked and lubricated if necessary.
10. HOW TO USE

WARNING!
• Getting in and out of the commode chair may be performed independently,
provided you have a adequate mobility and upper body strength
• Do not stand on removable parts DO NOT STAND ON THE FOOTRESTS WHEN
GETTING IN OR OUT OF THE COMMODE CHAIR, OVERTURNING RISK!!!
10.1 Get in the commode chairs
1. Position the commode chair as close as possible to you
2. Engage wheel locks (only for models with castors). We suggest to remove the armrest
to ease the patient getting in the commode chair
3. Lean on the frame with arms and slowly go down towards the seat
10.2 Get out of the commode chairs
1. Position the commode chair as close as possible along side the seat to which you are transferring
2. Engage wheel locks (only for models with castors). We suggest to remove the armrest to ease
the patient getting out of the commode chair
3. Shift body weight into seat with transfer
11. MAINTENANCE
The MOPEDIA devices by Moretti are checked carefully and supplied with EC mark, once launched
on the market. For patient and physician’s safety we recommend to let check the device by the
manufacturer or by laboratory authorized every 2 years. In case of repair use only original spare
parts. Before using follow the “WARNINGS” chapter. Moretti MOPEDIA commode chairs require few
elementary and periodic maintenance, below we list the checks to be carried out periodically.
