To start the test, the user must click on the “Enable” button, thus releasing the “Pulse”
button to enable the user to capture the meter pulses. During pulse counting, the
“Cancel” button is available to the user, which enables interruption (cancellation) of
counting.
Pulses may be manually or automatically counted, with the possibility of using the
“Pulse” key in the application, the external trigger connected to the device, or a sen-
sor, which depends on the type of counting selected in test setting.
In “start and end” counting, a pulse is given, which marks the start of counting, i.e.
the moment from which ADR Multi 4000 must start measuring consumption. Sim-
ilarly, a pulse is given to mark the end of counting. In this way, ADR Multi 4000
interprets that, during the measuring period between the start and end pulses, the
meter registers a particular energy consumption, according to the metering con-
stant, which makes a relation between the measured energy and the number of
turns/pulses of the meter.
In “Pulses/Turns” counting, a pulse is given in the application every time the meter
emits a pulse or makes a full turn. In this way, ADR Multi 4000 interprets that each
received pulse is equivalent to one pulse or one turn of the meter, which registered
a particular energy consumption, according to the metering constant, which makes
a relation between the measured energy and the number of turns/pulses of the
meter.
Throughout the entire test, the indication of the
number of current and total pulses and the in-
dication in bargraph to follow up the status are
displayed.
When completing a testing cycle, the application
checks if the user wishes to end testing or con-
duct the subsequent testing cycle. Once all test-
ing cycles have been conducted, ADR Multi 4000
immediately displays the test result, reporting the
errors verified, meter approval, energy consump -
tion registered, among other information, as illus-
trated in figure 10-9.
