3 lnstallation and Setup
Parameter Setting and Adjustment
1. [Splice Src] (Splice source)
Set up the source for the splice level.
Note: splice level from the front of the cabinet and external splice level cannot be
used at the same time.
2. [Splice Del] (Splice delay)
In the event of delay from activation of the knife signal to the cutting of the web, this
time can be set up within this parameter.
3. [Splice Lev] (Level from splice menu parameter)
[Splice Src = S. Lev]
The level for the splice is set up in the menu parameter for [Splice Lev] . A new
output level is needed when the knife cuts the web. The new output level depends
upon the diameter of the new roll. New rolls will typically be about the same diameter,
in which case the level can be constant. To compensate for different setpoints, this
output level varies in proportion to the setpoint. (Output =
Splice Lev x setpoint)
[NONE] Set up if splice is not used.
[S. Lev]
(Splice level is source.) With [S. Lev] as the source, the
splice level is set up in a menu parameter. Choose this
source if the diameter of the new roll is about the same at
every splice.
[ANALOG]
(Analog source) With [ANALOG] as source, the splice level
comes from an analog signal (0-10V). The analog signal can
either be wired on terminal 51, or come from a potentiometer
on the front panel in the cabinet version (see drawing below).
Choose this source for large changes in the diameter of the
new roll.
