Adjusting the input signal
It is much more important to set the input signal of a digital unit than that of an analogue unit, since excessively high input
signals will make any saturation of the A/D converters cause a particularly distinct noise (high typical level square wave).
Proceed as follows: Keep the LM260 outputs in MUTE status (keys lit). Feed a signal in LM260 INPUTS and check INPUT LEVEL
A-B LED ladders. To obtain a good signal/noise ratio, i.e. an up-front distortion-free signal, keep the signal quite high, but
make certain the red CLIP LED doesn’t flash continuously.
Find out your mixer (or other sound source) output operating level and check LM260 input LEDs.
To adjust the input gain, please check “In 1 Gain” and “In 2 Gain” settings. If necessary reduce it counter-clockwise rotating
the DIAL, please note that minimum step is 0.25dB Using the DIAL to change the gain value, check the level of the signal
on the INPUT LED ladders until the ideal values are reached.
Then use the NEXT key to access to “In 2 Gain” page (it will depend on the configuration; linking input Gains, you just need
to set one Gain value). If necessary, repeat the settings as explained above.
At this point, the first custom setup can be prepared. The detailed specifications of each parameter are shown in the respective
paragraphs of the manual.
