Instructions
A
You will achieve better results using natural
lump wood charcoal than with pressed char-
coal briquettes. Use natural wood based
accelerants. Do not use any chemical accele-
rants.
B
Fill the fire box up to the top edge with char-
coal.
C
Form a hollow in the centre of the charcoal,
place the accelerant inside and set alight.
D
Close the lid of the Monolith and fully open
the ash compartment door as well as the
dual-disc cap.
E
Once the desired temperature has been rea-
ched, close the ash compartment door lea-
ving a gap of up to 1-2 cm, then regulate the
temperature by adjusting the top cap. Fully
open (higher temperatures) or almost closed
(lower temperatures). Due to the heat absorp-
tion of the ceramic, it can take a while for the
temperature to drop from very high to low.
Never use water to cool your Monolith, as this
can cause cracking.
F
By closing both of the openings the embers
will extinguish and the remaining charcoal can
be reused.
G
To clean the grill, fully open both top and bot-
tom vents, make sure that there is still
enough charcoal in the fire box, refilling if
necessary. Heat the Monolith to approximate-
ly 400°C. All organic materials will burn and
turn to ash, cleaning the ceramic. The tempe-
rature should not exceed 400°C.

Assembly
A
Assemble the stand by screwing the legs to
the frame. To prevent scratches on the metal
components, place a cloth or a piece of paper
between frame and legs before turning. Turn
each leg until the holes of the frame are
aligned with the holes in the legs. Secure
each with 2 screws. For more convenience
attach the lockable wheels to the front legs.
B
Make sure the wheels are locked before pla-
cing the ceramic unit in the cart.
C
Lower the ceramic unit into the cart, making
sure the opening (ash compartment) is
between the legs of the cart.
D
Place the cast iron cap on the top opening of
the ceramic unit.
E
Put the fire box inside the Monolith; placing
the cut away section towards the opening of
the ash compartment. Cleaning your Monolith
is easy when the fire box and the ash com-
partment door opening are aligned correctly.
F
Place the cast iron charcoal grid on the fire
box.
G
Place the fire ring on top of the fire box,
making sure the opening for the wood chips is
directly behind the corresponding opening in
the ceramic unit.
H
Hook the side shelves in the corresponding
mounts on the ceramic unit. Possibly having
to adjust the distance by slightly bending the
metal fittings.
IMPORTANT:
Before first use check that all
the screws are safely and correctly tightened.
The screws on the metal bands around the
unit should be tightened regularly.
