LCD Colour Monitor

1 Applications

This LCD colour monitor in TFT active matrix technology
offers a sharp and quick picture display which is rich in
contrast. It can be adjusted to vertical and/or horizontal
mirror-inverted display of the picture and is thus ideally
suited for use in motor vehicles, e. g. for multimedia
applications or rear monitoring systems.

The monitor is designed for connection of two audio/

video signal sources (PAL or NTSC standard possible).
For sound reproduction, it is equipped with two small
speakers and a headphone connection.

2 Important Notes

This unit corresponds to the directive for motor vehicles
and has been tested under the number e13 022529.

The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high air hu-
midity, and heat (admissible ambient temperature
range

-

10 °C to +65 °C).

The heat being generated within the unit must be car-
ried off by air circulation. Never cover the air vents on
the rear side.

For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use chem-
icals or water.

No guarantee claims for the unit and no liability for any
resulting personal damage or material damage will be
accepted if the unit is used for other purposes than
originally intended, if it is not correctly installed or
operated, or not repaired in an expert way.

3 Mounting

1) Screw the supplied support to the monitor by means

of its mounting screw (10): Either to the threaded jack
(8) on the lower side of the monitor or to the flat nut
(9) movable in the guide rail.

2) For setting up the monitor, glue on the support by

removing the foil on its lower side or, to improve its
stability, screw it on via the four screws supplied.

For suspending the monitor, screw on the support

by means of the four screws supplied.

If the unit is to be put out of operation defini-
tively, take it to a local recycling plant for a
disposal which is not harmful to the environ-
ment.

3) Release the lateral screw (11) on the support, adjust

the desired inclination of the monitor, then retighten
the screw.

4 Connection

1) Connect the mini DIN plug of the supplied adapter

cable to the inline jack (7) of the monitor cable.

2) Connect the monitor via the phono plugs to the signal

sources (e. g. camera, DVD player, etc.):
Signal source 1: Connect the yellow plug VIDEO 1 to

the video output of the signal source and the white
plug AUDIO 1L (left channel) and the red plug
AUDIO 1R (right channel) to the stereo audio out-
put of the signal source.

Signal source 2: Connect the brown plug VIDEO 2 to

the video output of the signal source and the blue
plug AUDIO 2L (left channel) and the green plug
AUDIO 2R (right channel) to the stereo audio out-
put of the signal source.

3) The jack EAR (1) allows connection of stereo head-

phones with 3.5 mm plug. In this case, the speakers
will be switched off.

4) Connect the low-voltage inline jack of the adapter

cable to a 12 V DC voltage source (e. g. to the ciga-
rette lighter socket in the car or to a power supply unit
like MONACOR PS-1204ST). For connection, a low-
voltage plug of the dimensions 5.5/2.1 mm (out-
side/inside diameter) is required. The positive pole
must be at the centre contact.

5 Operation

After applying the operating voltage, the monitor will be
switched on and reproduce the picture and the sound of
signal source 1.
1) To  switch between the signal sources, press the

button CH (6).
Note: The monitor will only be able to reproduce the
sound of a signal source if it receives a video signal
from this signal source; if a signal source does not
supply a video signal, the monitor will automatically
switch to the other signal source. If the monitor is
switched on and there is no video signal at either
video input, the LED of the POWER switch (2) will
flash as an indication.

ATTENTION! When mounting the unit in the car,
screw the support to a stable place to ensure that it
will not work loose and turn into a dangerous pro-
jectile together with the monitor.

the button VOL+ is pressed, it will be increased, each
time the button VOL- is pressed, it will be reduced. To
quickly adjust the volume, keep the corresponding but-
ton pressed until the desired volume is reached.

5) To quit the reproduction, press the button POWER

(2). The monitor will go on stand-by, the LED of the
button will light up. With the button POWER, it can be
switched on again.

Even on stand-by, the monitor will have a low

power consumption. If it is not used for a longer peri-
od, it should be disconnected from the power supply
to save energy.
