4.3.3 Slave
Mode
The Slave movement has no network connection. It is synchronized with local time and monitored by a
Master movement (operating mode Unicast or Multicast possible). The cascade can help to reduce
wiring effort since only one LAN connection is required. The disadvantage is that the slave movements
cannot be addressed directly via a network connection. Monitoring is only possible via Master move-
ment. Power supply in the cascade is only possible through the Master movement (with PoE or DC
power supply). See chapter 5.1.

Switch 2.8 must be set to ON position to operate the NBU 190 in Slave Mode. In addition an address
1..3 must be set by means of the switches 1.5 to 1.8 (Caution: each address 1..3 may only be used

The
cascading
connection may only be connected or disconnected in a
powerless
state
of the master movement.
The Slave movements may only be powered through the cascading cable from the master
movement. Additional DC power supply is not allowed.
