Connect the other end of the cable to a USB port of the computer and switch the
VM22 on again. If the instrument is being connected with a particular computer for
the first time, a driver installation will be necessary. The driver MMF_VCP.zip can
be found on our website:
http://mmf.de/software_download.htm
Unpack and save both data files in a directory on your computer.
When Windows requests details of the source of the device driver, this directory
should be entered.
The device driver is digitally signed and runs with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10.
13.2. VM2x Measurement Database
As an option Metra provides the PC program VM2x Measurement Database. This
local database serves for convenient management of VMID data and recorded mea-
surements. Data can be assigned to projects and locations by means of the stored
VMID codes. The software generates trend diagrams and reports which help to eval-
uate machine condition. VMID data can be edited and transferred to the instrument
in order to guide the user on measuring routes from point to point.
