Cabling instructions
Travan tape drive
(FTD interface)
This drive uses a ribbon signal cable with three connectors. This
signal cable must be connected between the signal connector on
the rear of the tape drive, the 3.5" diskette drive, and the
diskette/floppy disk connector on the motherboard (usually
marked
FLOPPY
).
CD-ROM drive
PD/CD drive
(ATA-PI interface)
The drive is supplied with two cables: a ribbon signal cable
(which connects to the motherboard’s secondary ATA/IDE
connector, usually marked
CDROM
) and a CD-audio cable
(which connects to the motherboard in an LS340 system).
DDS tape drive
(SCSI interface)
SCSI upgrade kits from authorised suppliers include a suitable
ribbon signal cable. This cable should be connected between the
SCSI adapter card and the rear of the drive. The illustration
below shows a typical routing of the cable.
