Cleaning and Maintenance

In principle, all cleaning and maintenance works must be performed after the stunner has
been switched off. Dirty and consumed electrodes lead to poor skin contact and do not
ensure optimum stunning.

5.1 Safety Information
DANGER!
Live Machine Parts.

Danger to Life.

Disconnect the Electro Sheep Stunner from the mains supply before each operation and

protect against unintended reactivating.

WARNING!
Risk of accident caused by insufficiently qualified personnel

Danger to Life and most severe injuries are possible.

The Electro Sheep Stunner may only be operated, maintained and repaired by instructed

and authorized service personnel.

5.2 Daily Cleaning

Only use the cleaning detergents especially designed for use in the food industry.

1. Disconnect the Electro Sheep Stunner from the mains supply.
2. Clean the Electro Sheep Stunner only manually by using customary detergents and
disinfectants.
3.. Clean the dirty electrodes with a steel brush.
4. Keep the electrodes bare.
5. Store the Electro-Stun-Tong in a warm and dry place for its next application.

5.3 Periodic Inspection of Electrical Equipment

In accordance with the accident prevention regulation “Electrical installations and equipment”
and the operational safety rules the operator is obliged to ensure that all electrical machinery
and installations are regularly checked for electrical safety. Periodic inspections of non-
stationary electrical machinery and equipment that is used in slaughtering and cutting plants
must be carried out at intervals of six months in accordance with DIN VDE 0701-0702/EN
60204-1. The electrical test must be carried out by an electrically skilled person in
the sense of the accident prevention regulation “Electrical installations and equipment” or by
an electrically instructed person. We recommend that you should document the inspections
and test results in a test logbook. This will enable you at any time to further proof that you
have inspected your machinery and equipment in accordance with requirements. Service at
MEFE would like to give you the option to arrange for the next periodic inspection of your
machinery or equipment to be carried out at our warehouse. Our service includes a complete
inspection of the electrical system with inspection report and test sticker. If you are interested
in arranging for a periodic inspection at our warehouse or by a service technician on-site,
contact our sales staff. Please refer to the company information for address and telephone
