Pressure test of the pipe system
The valve has been pressure tested by the manufacturer. Observe at the pipe system pressure
test:
o
Flush new installed pipe systems carefully before the pressure test to be sure, that all hard
particulates have been flushed out.
o
Valve in OPEN position:
The test pressure shall be limited to 1,5 x (PN or PS) – see
valve tag. PS = maximal admissible working pressure
o
Valve in CLOSED position:
The test pressure shall be limited to 1,1 x (PN or PS). - see
valve tag.
o
In case of leakage, observe
<maintenance>
.
To protect the plastomeric valve liner:
The test pressure of lined valves is limited to 15 bar. The
valve disc shall be in OPEN position at this test pressure.
At higher test pressure the valve may become use-less!
In case of leakage at a flange connection:
Tighten the flange bolting with torque limited to values in
Table 2
. If the flange seal continues to
leak, a 10% higher torque may be used.
If this is not sufficient:
Disassemble the valve and check the flange mating surfaces to be parallel: If not, try to correct it.
Check all liners at the mating surfaces too:
If the liner at a mating surface is damaged, the relevant butterfly valve or pipe flange shall be
replaced.
