ENGLISH
Coils with alternating voltage are only to be operated when they are fitted to a solenoid tube. The
operation without such a tube could lead to a higher flow or voltage through the coil than
approved and therefore leading to a thermic self-destruction of the coil.
When operating the industrial valve within a system, electrostatic charges may occur due to the
flow of the medium. These charges are normally discharged to earth via a cable connection or via
the electrically conductive pipe system. The industrial valve has a threaded hole in the housing to
permit connection of a cable.
Installation
When installing, the direction of the medium which flows through the valve, must be taken into
consideration. The valve is designed to function in a specific direction only, and its function is
defined. If the valve is not correctly installed, it will not function. To prevent the risk of this
happening, the valve is engraved with permanently legible markings on the connections.
For the series
GMV4800, 5200, 7200, 7300, 7500, FMV2300
apply following tags:
P
for input,
A
for output and
R
for return flow or, in the case of 3/2-way valves, for the second
output. Install the valve only with upright actuator in horizontal direction unless there is the
opposite indicated in other documents or quotation. Always take into consideration the direction
of the arrows or the connection marking (
P, A, R
) on the body, in respect to the flow of the
medium.
For the series
GMV2138, 2148, 2162, 2197,
apply following tags:
1
for input and
2
for output.
Pilot valves of the series
GMV3162, 3163, 3197
has the flow direction in reverse order.
2
for input
and
1
for output. The second output is setting on top of the tube and is not marked.
Before installation keep in mind to rinse your piping with pressure interval. If you have media with
particles we recommend the use of a strainer directly in front of the solenoid valve. If you mount a
valve with muffle connection do not use the coil as hand lever. Avoid twisting of the valve body -
this can be caused by wrong tools, sealing material or non-flush pipelines. Remind to use suitable
tools at the spanner flats only.
Electric Connection
Our common solenoids have a plug connection or a cable entry point to the terminal box. Please
mind the required current and voltage before connection - you can find them on the type label or
the bill of delivery. The tolerance of voltage is +/- 10%. The duty time is 100%. The continuous
duty is the time when the solenoid is energized until the load temperature is reached.
Caution - risk of burning! The surfaces of the solenoids can be above 100°C (+212°F)!
