the jug is filled to maximum level.
Care and Cleaning
• Before cleaning, turn off the jug and unplug it
from the mains supply.
• If the jug is hot, please wait for it to cool down
before any cleaning is undertaken.
• Wipe the exterior of the jug with a soft damp
cloth or sponge.
• Remove stubborn spots with a cloth moistened
with mild detergent. Do not use steel wool or
abrasive cleaners. Do not put detergents or
cleaning agents in the jug.
• Buff with a clean soft cloth.
• Do not leave the jug in direct sunlight as the
quality of the finish may deteriorate.
Removing Calcium Deposits
In order to maintain the performance of your jug, it
is important to remove deposits that build up inside
the jug. To decalcify your jug you can either use an
appropriate descalent available from most leading
retail outlets, or you can also use the following
process:
• Half fill the jug with ordinary tap water.
• Add 30ml(1 fl oz) of white vinegar to the jug.
• Boil the mixture and allow to stand for 30
seconds. Repeat this step two more times.
Note: In extreme cases this procedure may need to
be repeated.
• Empty the mixture and rinse well.
• The filter inside the jug will also need to be
cleaned from time to time, to remove the build up
of calcium deposits from the prolonged use. To
remove the filter, open the lid and locate the filter,
which is located at base of spout. Removal of
the filter is achieved by placing fingers inside the
spout and pushing the filter downwards. Please
ensure the jug is cool.
• The filter may be cleaned by gently brushing
under running water with a soft bristled brush or
by soaking it in vinegar.
• Replace the filter by pushing it firmly back into
place with the 4 tabs resting firmly against the
base of the spout.
