NOTICE

windows and heating elements while driv-

edges and ensure that pointed objects do
not hit the windows.
Opening
Press button next on tailgate.
Without automatic trunk lid actuation:
The tailgate is unlocked and can be swung
upward.
With automatic trunk lid actuation:
The tailgate opens automatically.
With automatic trunk lid actuation:

Principle
The trunk can be opened and closed con-
tactless using the vehicle key you are carry-
ing. Two sensors detect a forward-directed
foot movement in the central rear area and
the tailgate is opened or closed.
General information
To avoid locking the vehicle key in the vehi-
cle, do not place the vehicle key in the cargo
area.
If the vehicle key is in the sensor area, the
tailgate may open or close inadvertently if
you unintentionally move your foot or if a
foot movement is detected.
The sensor has an approximate range of
5 ft/1.50 m extending from the rear area.
If the trunk is opened contactless, locked
doors are not unlocked.
Contactless trunk opening and closing must
be activated in the settings.
Safety information
Warning
During no-touch activation, vehicle parts
may be touched, such as the hot exhaust
system. There is a risk of injury. When
moving your foot, make sure you have a
firm stance and do not touch the vehicle.

Body parts can be jammed when operating
the tailgate. There is a risk of injury. Make
sure that the travel path of the tailgate is
clear during opening and closing.
