Ventilate the tank

Switch off drive-ready state.

Pull the switch to start the pres-

sure compensation.
The tank ventilation system status is

displayed in the instrument cluster. In

rare cases, tank ventilation can last sev-

eral minutes.
When tank ventilating has finished, a

message is displayed in the instrument

cluster. The fuel filler flap is released for

opening.

Open the fuel filler flap.
If it is not possible to open the fuel filler

flap after tank ventilating, pull the

switch again.
If it is still not possible to open the fuel

filler flap even after the switch has been

pulled, unlock the fuel filler flap man-

ually, refer to page

Before opening, ventilate the tank, refer to

To open the fuel filler flap, press on the

rear edge, arrow. The fuel filler flap

opens.

Turn the fuel cap counterclockwise.

Place the fuel cap in the bracket at-

tached to the fuel filler flap.

Closing

Warning

The retaining strap of the fuel cap can be

jammed and crushed during closing. The

cap cannot be correctly closed. Fuel or fuel

vapors can escape. There is a risk of injury

or risk of damage to property. Pay atten-

tion that the retaining strap is not jammed

or crushed when closing the cap.

Fit the cap and turn it clockwise until

you clearly hear a click.

Press on the fuel filler flap until it en-

gages.

Emergency unlocking

It may be necessary in certain situations to

unlock the fuel filler flap manually, for in-

stance with an electrical malfunction.
