3.3 Overload protection

The resistance level of 1300

 has a minimal power consumption that is especially

important for high stability.
Forces exceeding the max. load in the measuring direction may change the characteristics

of the load cell or damage it. If the destructive load of the load cell is exceeded, there is a

danger of mechanical destruction.
If there is a risk of the maximum usable load being exceeded (even only temporarily,

e.g.by falling loads), mechanical limiting in load direction is required or an appropriate

rubber damping mechanism must be provided (elastomer support; see Chapter

11.2.1

).

overloaded by more than 150 % of the nominal load, this causes a signiicant lattening of

the characteristic curve.
The igure shows the typical characteristic curve for the diferent load levels:
If the load cell is loaded with a maximum of 500 kg, it reverts back to its speciied data

after being unloaded.
