MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRODE PADS INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Warnings
ˆ
Electrode pads are not repositionable. Replace with new pads if reposi -
tioning is required.
ˆ
Change pads after 50 defibrillation shocks.
ˆ
Change pads every 24 hours.
ˆ
Do not clean pads with alcohol or other cleaning agents.
ˆ
Do not immerse cables or electrode pads.
ˆ
The product is non-sterile. Do not sterilize.
ˆ
For single patient use only. Discard after use.
Applying the Electrode Pads
Be sure to understand above precautions and warnings before using the mul -
tifunction electrode pads.
1. Select placement sites on body of patient according to defibrillator/moni -
tor manufacturer's operating manual. Figure A and Figure B shows two
standard opations.
2. Clean and dry the skin of application site. Remove excessive hair if nec -
essary.
3. Remove electrode pads from package. Separate leadwires. Peel the pro -
tective cover of electrode.
4. Apply electrode pads as directed by Figure A or Figure B. Smooth the
elctrode from the center outward to edges with fingertips to ensure that
there are no air pockets between the gel and patient's skin.
5. Connect the elctrodes to therapy cable and then connect the cable to de -
fibrillator/monitor.
6. Follow the defibrillator/monitor manufacturer's operating manual to per -
form patient therapy or ECG monitoring.. Replace electrode pads after 50
defibrillation shocks, 8 hours of continuou pacing or 24 hours on skin.
