Brazing of piping
With the exception of the mechanical fittings used for certain components, all metallic fittings must be brazed or welded. If a filler
metal is used, its temperature in the liquid state must not be less than 600°C. The filler metals must be nominally free of cadmium.
If silver alloys are used, they must be compliant with
ISO 17672
.
During the brazing or welding of the pipe fittings, the interior of the pipe must be constantly purged with a protective gas in order to
limit the risk of introduction of shavings or particles.
The sub-contractor cannot carry out brazing operations unless he has a fire permit issued by the healthcare establishment.
9.6
Controls during and after installation of the pipes
Self-checks must be carried out during installation, including a visual inspection of the brazing in order to detect:
➢
the absence of flux during the brazing operation,
➢
any deterioration of the base metal due to overheating,
➢
lack of filler metal at the joint,
➢
the absence of run-out or surplus filler metal,
The
piping and network components connecting the various components
of the production unit must be subjected to a tightness
test at 1.5 times the operating pressure. The table below indicates the pressure to be applied for this test:

The results of the verifications must be recorded and saved.
The entire system must be inspected before commissioning. The
NF EN ISO 7396-1
standard applicable to medical gas distribution
systems details the tests to be carried out.
The results of the verifications must be recorded and kept.
PNEUMATIC CONNECTIONS
10.1
Air unit pneumatic connections
Connect concentrator to air production unit taking care to observe the correct
connecting hosing and pipe cross-sections.
For non-Pack versions:
(Pack version: dryer mounted directly on compressor)
Connect compressor output to filter system input using flexible hosing supplied with
compressor.
For Pack and non-Pack versions:
Connect output
[1]
from each filter system to receiver
[2]
.
Connect receiver
[3]
to concentrator input.
For several concentrators, collect air receiver inlet and outlet, and collect compressor
outlets.
Condensate collection:
It is necessary to collect the condensate coming from the BEKO trap to be found under the Cyclone filter, and that coming from the
PF and SUB filters via their trap.
