When heating up food which cannot be
stirred or turned during cooking, as with
a plated meal, it is best to use a lower
microwave power level.
This ensures the heat is distributed
evenly. Heat for long enough to cook
the food properly.
^
Set the required time using the time
selector.
Any time between 10 seconds and 90
minutes can be selected.
Exception: If the maximum microwave
power is selected, a maximum cooking
duration of 15 minutes can be set. If a
longer time is selected, the power level
reduces automatically to 600 W.
The time required depends on:
– the initial temperature of the food.
Food taken from the refrigerator will
need longer to reheat or cook than
food already at room temperature.
– the type and texture of the food.
Fresh vegetables contain more water
and cook more quickly than stored
vegetables.
– the frequency of stirring or turning
the food.
Frequent stirring or turning heats the
food more evenly, and it is therefore
ready in a shorter time.
– the amount of food.
As a general rule, allow approx. time
and a half for double the quantity.
For a smaller quantity, possibly
shorten the time but ensure food is
cooked thoroughly.
– the shape and material of the
container.
