Remedy:
Note:
The change in grinding grade only takes full effect after several servings
have been prepared.
1. Reduce the grinding grade by sliding the lever one to two settings to the right.
2. Reduce the ground quantity; see Section 001-4.1.
3. To ensure that the ground quantity compensation can set correctly, reset the
appliance to standard settings; see service programming.
4. If the problem occurs again, check the ground quantity switch contact; see Section
001-3.24.

Coffee Grounds Next to the Brew Unit
Symptom:
After approximately 5 coffee servings, there is a large amount of coffee grounds next
to the brew unit.
Cause:
The holder for the ground quantity step contact switch (Figure 001-21, Item 1) has
broken off. The switch remains in the correct position but it moves during the brewing
process. See Section 001-2.3.3.

Remedy:
1. Replace the brew unit drive; see Section 001-4.21.
2. Ensure that the plug is seated firmly.
Cause:
The grind amount compensation is set to maximum. The brew unit is overfilled.
Remedy:
1. Reduce the ground quantity; see Section 001-4.1.
