PRODUCT PROGRAMMING
Note:
Greater details of the TVS-2V series products can be found in the TVS-2 Series Technical Reference
Manual. The TVS-2V-HS1 is programed via the MPS software and H250prog please reference the H250prog
manual for setup instructions and location of connectors on the H250prog.
Go to our website midians.com and under downloads> software download the latest MPS software version. If
using the supplied CD-ROM insert it into the PC’s CD-ROM drive. In the browser that will pop-up, install the MPS
programming software. Be certain that the “Install KL-4 USB Driver” box is checked during the installation
process.
Open Windows’ Control Panel and go to Device Manager.
Open Ports (COM& LPT) to identify the port assignment issued by computer. Plug in the H250 programmer to the
USB port and the screen will flash and show the device location.
From the product selection screen on the programming software, select the appropriate product from the list and
click OK. Set the parameters of the TVS-2-HS1 software to fit the application. If any clarifications on a feature are
required, move the mouse cursor over the feature name until the question mark appears and right click, a
definition of the feature will be shown.
After the latest MPS has been installed default programming files for specific radio models can be found at:
C:\Apps\Midian\MPS\MPS_vX_xx\Additional Default Files\ HS-1\Datron
Set the parameters of the TVS-2V HANDSET software to fit the application as described below. If any
clarifications on a feature are required, move the mouse cursor over the feature name until the question mark
appears and right-click, a definition of the feature will be shown.
After entering the parameters, save the file by going to File - Save As. Enter the file name in the File Name block
and click Save. Saving the file will allow for quick and easy reprogramming of units.
For programming the unit, connect the Handset cable to the connector on the H250 Programmer. Press and hold
the power button on the H250, after hearing the power on tones from the Handset earpiece click on Program Unit
in the MPS software to download the data to the Handset. 3 beeps will be heard in the earpiece after successfully
writing to the unit.
The Program Unit/Read Unit button must be pressed within 7 seconds of hearing the acknowledge tones
from the Handset. If more than 7 seconds pass the Handset must be powered down by releasing the
power button on the H250 Programmer and then press the power button again to reset the Handset.
Doing this repeatedly may cause the PC to shut down the USB port.
If this should happen
unplug the USB
cable from the H250 programmer and then reinsert the cable.
For reading the unit, connect the Handsets cable to the connector on the H250 Programmer. After hearing the
power on tones from the Handset, click on Read Unit in the MPS software to read the current data in the Handset.
Note:
When the scrambler is read, the security codes will be read out as zeroes. If another scrambler is then
cloned with this information, the scramblers will be incompatible because they have different security codes.
