Chapter 4: The BIOS Setup Utility

NOTE: We rec-

ommend that you select type Auto for all drives.

Diskette A or B

To configure a floppy drive added to or removed from
your computer, use <

→/←↑

/

↓

> arrow keys to select the

desired drive. Use the <PU/PD/+/-> arrow keys to
change the setting until it matches the floppy drive you
installed. The BIOS supports 2.88MB, 1.44MB, 1.2MB,
720KB and 360KB floppy drives.

Video

Select the type of video card installed into your system.
The default setting is EGA/VGA.

Halt On

During the Power-On Self-Test (POST), the system
stops if the BIOS detects a hardware error. The default
setting is All Errors.

Base/Extended/Other Memory

A small section in the lower right corner of the screen
displays important information about your system that
includes the base, extended and other memory sizes.
They are updated automatically by the Setup program
according to the status detected by the BIOS self-test.
