POST Messages
The following table lists the Power On Self Test (POST)
messages, possible causes and solutions.

Possible Cause

CPU FAN FAILED
DURING
PREVIOUS

Fan failed due to a
fan electrical problem,
or the option enabled
with incorrect fan
used.
Replace bad fan.
You must use a fan
with a power
connector that
connects to the
system board.
DISKETTE DRIVE
A FAILURE
Drive A failed or is
missing.
Check Setup and
cable connections.
DISKETTE DRIVE
B FAILURE
Drive B failed or is
missing.
Check Setup and
cable connections.
EXTENDED RAM
FAILED AT
OFFSET: nnnn
Extended memory not
working or configured
properly.
Replace defective
memory.
FAILING BITS:

Memory failure in
System, Extended, or
Shadow memory.
Replace defective
memory.

Rerun SETUP and
check connections,
