ii) NOTE: GEN1 and GEN2 pressure relief cartridges are NOT interchangeable within the
manifold blocks. GEN1 and GEN2 manifold assemblies
ARE interchangeable between the actuator assemblies for
each generation.
iii) Pressure relief cartridges are pre-set from the factory and
have tamper evident features. Do NOT attempt to adjust the
pressure relief cartridges.
iv) When installing cartridge, hand thread cartridge. Cartridge
should thread into manifold with limited resistance. Do NOT
force!! Difficult threading is an indication that the wrong
pressure relief cartridge is being used.
v) Using a calibrated torque wrench - torque pressure relief
cartridge to torque specified in the Torque chart located in
SECTION 7.
p) Manifold Installation:
i) Verify manifold O-ring cavities are clean and burr
free.
ii) Install the two (2) O-rings into cavities of the body.
(1) Apply assembly grease (petroleum jelly) as an
aid to retain O-rings in place.
iii) With actuator and manifold sitting upright on its
mounting flanges on an even and flat surface, slide
manifold up to manifold boss on body.
(1)
IMPORTANT
: The bottom of the manifold and actuator mounting bases MUST be in-
line and set fully on the same surface.
iv) Apply medium strength thread locker to the ends of six (6) of the ½-13 x 2.5” long manifold
bolts, insert into mounting holes and finger start each bolt
v) Tighten each bolt down in an alternating pattern.
vi) Using a calibrated torque wrench - torque all six (6) manifold mounting bolts according to
Torques chart located in
SECTION 7.
q) External Disc / Arm Shim Installation:
i) Slip arm shim discs around end of each shaft.
(1) ONLY newer GEN1 actuators have these shims.
(2) Shims are on both shafts with both round and flat
ends.
(3) GEN2 actuators do not require however it is ‘ok’
to install them.
(4) Brush a light layer of assembly grease on face of
shim closest to head to aid in retaining shims in
place.
(5) Shims will be loose; therefore, it is advisable to install these at the time of flipper arm
attachment.
r) Final Assembly Appearances for GEN1 and GEN2 Flat and Round Shafts:
i) Refer to
SECTION 7
Section for final appearances.
