Configuration for Dedicated Charger Emulation (DCE) 
Mode

The Dedicated Charger Emulation (DCE) mode configures the UCS1003-2 
Evaluation Board to cycle through emulation profiles until the charging current 
increases above the threshold of 175 mA. To configure the evaluation board for 
the DCE mode, follow these steps:

1.

Configure the jumper settings as shown in 

Table 2-2

.

2.

Apply 5V. The UCS1003-2 is set to the Detect state and awaits a 
downstream device attachment.

3.

Connect a tablet or a cell phone to the USB port J10. 

When a charger emulation profile is applied and the charging current increases 
above 175 mA, LD2 (labeled CHRG) will illuminate and charging will continue.
