3.4 Cable carrier
The cable carrier (1) , see Fig. 14 is attached to the base frame and supplies power to
all the components that are on the base frame. These develop a “polygon effect” during
movement, because individual chain connections are kinked. In a precise measuring
system, this effect negatively affects the measured result. For this reason, a special cable
drag that does not have a polygon effect is used. This ensures smooth running and pre-
cise measurements.

3.5 Compressed Air Supply
The compressed air is used for the movement of the calibration part , see Fig. 10 and for
air purging the sensors , see Fig. 9 .
Commissioning work performed by the customer:
Connect the compressed air supply (2) , see Fig. 15 .

The maintenance unit consists of a filter control unit for preparing the compressed air
and generating the working pressure. The compressed air is monitored electronically.
In the event of a drop in the nominal pressure from 5 bar to under 4 bar, a signal is sent
to the measuring system’s controller. The controller forwards this information to the user
interface.
