BARKBUSTER automatically begins doing its job. You should be able to get just one finger between
your dog’s neck and the collar
There are two BUTTONS used to adjust the sensitivity to the bark and every time it is altered up or
down there is a
“Beep” tone and the sensitivity is gradually enhanced or weakened. The more
sensitive it is set, the easier the collar will be triggered.
There are a total of 7 levels of sensitivity. It is set automatically to about midway at level 4 when you
install the battery.
Installing/Replacing the Battery:
Take off the battery cover and make sure you install the battery correctly. Install the new battery
between the “clip” and “spring” contacts.
Note:
the “spring” contact is for the negative end and the
“clip” contact is for the positive red end.
Putting the BarkBuster on your dog
Place the collar around your dog’s neck and adjust the collar length using the slide buckle. The unit
should fit snugly underneath your dog’s neck. You should just be able to get one finger between the
collar and the neck. Please make sure that the probe
s are in contact with your dog’s skin. Unless
actually touching the skin, the static impulses will not be felt by your dog and the collar will be
ineffective. For extra furry dogs you may have to trim the fur to achieve a satisfactory skin contact.
Notes of Caution
Do not allow your dog to chew the collar and try to minimise any scratching or clawing at the casing.
This device is made up from plastic and electronic components which are not digestible. Please
consult your vet if your dog swallows any part of this product.
This collar is not suitable for use with any restraining device. If you are using a leash, please use it
with an appropriate type of collar.
Although the BarkMaster’s microprocessor is designed to differentiate your dog’s bark from stray
environmental noises, it is conceivably possible for the occasional spurious noise/vibration to
activate it.
This is normal but it should not happen so often as to be confusing to your dog. If it is falsely
triggered by excessive scratching, head shaking or rolling on the ground, your dog may be suffering
from fleas or ear mites. If this behaviour is evident, please have your dog checked by a vet for
parasites.
