1. Preface:

The technique of mecablitz 40 MZ-1 (i) and 40 MZ-3 (i) is based on mecablitz 40 MZ-2, but additional it is
furnished with some of advanced functions. For instance it is possible to adjust a reflector positon from 24 mm
to 105 mm (format 24x36 mm). Additional powerzoom reflector is equiped with an build-in wide angle
diffusor for 20 mm lenses, which can placed in front of the fresnel pane. Further functions like „extended
zoom“, „TTL easy mode“, „modelling light“ and „key function“ (which is extended on sliding switches) are
available.

Special flash functions like „3D multi sensor fill in flash“ (only mecablitz 40 MZ-3 and 40 MZ-3 i), „preflash
against red eyes“ and „indication of underexposure“ with Nikon cameras are possible too. With Canon
cameras are the E-TTL function with the mecablitz 40 MZ-1 i and 40 MZ-3 i possible.

2. Functions of the circuit:

Circuit parts of mecablitz 40 MZ-1 (i) and 40 MZ-3 (i) are wellknown in its functions from mecablitz 40 MZ-2
and 50 MZ-5. That’s why „discriptions of circuits“ is not contained in this service manual.
