CONNECTIONS
From the 16-pin harness with stripped leads to the aftermarket radio:
• Connect the
Red
wire to the accessory wire.
Note:
There will also be an accessory wire from the 8163 harness to connect as well.
The following (3) wires are only for multimedia/navigation radios that require these wires.
• Connect the
Blue/Pink
wire to the VSS/speed sense wire.
• Connect the
Green/Purple
wire to the reverse wire.
• Connect the
Light Green
wire to the parking brake wire.
• Tape off and disregard the following (11) wires, they will not be used in this application:
Blue/White, Brown, Gray, Gray/Black, Green, Green/Black, Orange/White, Purple,
Purple/Black, White, White/Black
From the 8163 harness to the aftermarket radio:
• Connect the
Black
wire to the ground wire.
• Connect the
Yellow
wire to the battery wire.
• Connect the
Blue
wire to the power antenna wire.
• Connect the
Blue/White
wire to the accessory wire.
• Connect the
Red
and
White
RCA jacks to the audio AUX-IN jacks from the aftermarket radio.
• Tape off and disregard the following (4) wires, they will not be used in this application:
White, White/Black, Gray, Gray/Black
• Use the appropriate amplifier bypass included with the kit to connect to the speakers,
following the instructions included with the amplifier bypass. Take note that there are
multiple speakers in the vehicle with varying impedance. An external amplifier(s) and either
active or passive crossovers will be required (not provided).
