NOTE: The fluid level may be somewhat over the maximum mark, as some of the fluid from the transmission fluid cooler
and hoses may have drained back into the transmission.
3. If the fluid level is below the minimum mark on the dipstick, add transmission fluid. See
Add Fluid

IMPORTANT: To accurately check the fluid level, operate the engine at 1500 RPM for two minutes immediately before
checking the level.
4. Start the engine and operate at 1500 RPM for two minutes to fill all the hydraulic circuits.
5. Stop the engine and quickly check the fluid level with the dipstick resting on the top of the threaded hole.
6. If the fluid level is low, add transmission fluid to bring the level up to the maximum mark on the dipstick. See

.
NOTE: If the transmission fluid level was extremely low, see your local Mercury Diesel authorized repair facility.
7. Install the dipstick.

1. If necessary, add specified transmission fluid through the dipstick threaded hole to bring the level up to the maximum mark
on the dipstick.
