When the continuous brake is activated and
you activate cruise control, the continuous
brake regulates the set speed on downhill
slopes.
Overtaking
It is possible to exceed the set speed, e.g.
when overtaking:

Depress the accelerator pedal.

When the overtaking manoeuvre is finished,
release the accelerator pedal again.
Cruise control adjusts the vehicle's speed to
the set speed.
Deactivating
The speed remains stored if you deactivate
cruise control.

Driving tips
Running-in
The running-in period for the engine is crucial
for the vehicle, particularly for the:

service life
R
operating safety
R
driving economy
Observe the following notes during the run-
ning-in period up to 2,000 km:
R
avoid subjecting the engine to full load.
R
run in the engine with care, at differing driv-
ing and engine speeds.
R
avoid high engine speeds.
R
do not drive at more than ¾ of the maxi-
mum road speed for each gear.
R
change gear in good time.
R
do not shift down to brake the vehicle.
After 2,000 km, you can gradually bring the
vehicle up to full road speed and increased
engine speeds.
Loading

If objects, luggage or loads are not secured
or not secured sufficiently, they could slip,
tip over or be flung around and thereby hit
vehicle occupants. There is a risk of injury,
especially when braking or abruptly chang-
ing directions.
Always store objects so that they cannot be
flung around. Secure objects, luggage or
loads against slipping or tipping before the
journey.

When loading, secure or place a platform in
front of the open door if necessary.

Do not exceed the maximum permissible
gross vehicle weight. Observe the permissi-
ble axle and wheel loads. Avoid one-sided
wheel loads. The difference between wheel
loads must not exceed 4% of the actual,
existing axle load.
