NOTE Damage caused by water when
fording
In the following cases water can penetrate
into the engine compartment and vehicle
interior:

The maximum permissible fording depth
is exceeded when driving through stand‐
ing water.
R
When driving through the water a bow
wave forms.
R
Water accumulates when driving through
running water.

Do not exceed the maximum permissi‐
ble fording depth and drive slowly
through the water.
The specified value indicates the maximum per‐
missible fording depth for vehicles that are ready
to drive and for slow driving through standing
water.
Driving through flowing water reduces the per‐
missible fording depth due to the accumulation
of water.
Observe the notes on off-road driving and ford‐
ing in the vehicle Operator's Manual.
