INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING

The following steps need to be carried out for the commissioning of the MMk-736:

2.1.

Installation of the SIM card

Before starting up the equipment, it is necessary to install a SIM card so that it can make calls.

Before installing the SIM card, we should make sure that the PIN has been disabled and
services such as call diversions or voicemails are not activated.

The slot to insert the SIM card is found on the left-hand side of the device, so it is NOT

necessary to open it for the insertion of the card. The gold-plated side of the SIM card must be
inserted downwards and the cut-off corner towards the inside. Then, push it in until you hear a

click.

2.2.

Connection of the GSM antenna

Connect the GSM antenna provided in the corresponding SMA female connector.

It is important to find a place for the antenna which offers a good level of coverage, so as to

guarantee good audio quality when making voice calls.

To check the level of coverage, once the equipment has been switched on, inspect the
corresponding status lights (see section 3).

2.3.

Connection of the telephone equipment

Connect the home automation/emergency phone equipment to the FXS connector.

IMPORTANT: The GSM gateway MMk-736 is not designed to supply power to emergency phones
that are powered from phone lines. MERak is not responsible for the malfunctioning of the

installed equipment in these circumstances.

2.4.

Connection to the power supply

The MMk-736 is powered through the DC 12V frontal connector.

The power voltage of the equipment is 12V

DC

±

 20%.

Connect the included power supply to the device, which complies with the above mentioned
specifications. The use of a power supply different from the provided one may cause serious

damage to the equipment.

2.5.

Switching on and verification of proper functioning

Switch on the device using the ON/OFF switch. Check proper functioning by observing the
corresponding status LEDs:
