2 Getting Started
2.1 Connecting and Starting
You can use the following check list when installing the board in a system for the first
time and with minimum configuration.

Power down the system.
»
Insert the G214 into a peripheral slot of your CompactPCI Serial system, making
sure that the backplane connectors are properly aligned.
Note: The peripheral slots of every system are marked by a circle with a plus sign behind
it on the backplane and/or at the front panel:
»
Power-up the system.
2.2 Installing Driver Software
For a detailed description on how to install driver software, please refer to the respective
documentation of the software package to be installed.
Host connection with P1 and P2 assembled on board

Inserted in slot 1 or 2: PCIe x8 link (fat pipe)

Inserted in slot 3 to 8: PCIe x4 link
Host connection with P1 assembled on board

Inserted in slot 1 to 8: PCIe x4 link
