INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

-  Open the cover.

-  Remove the basket and attach the handle by pivoting until the rods engage in the

  housing (Fig. 3).

-  Before using the appliance for the first time, wash the basket and bowl with soapy

water, rinse well to remove any soap and then dry.

-  Pour oil up to the mark indicating the “MAX” level on the bowl (Fig. 1).

-  Insert the plug into the wall socket.

-  Select the required frying temperature using the thermostat control dial.

-  The red pilot light will switch on to indicate that the oil is being heated (electricity is

saved by closing the lid as this will allow the oil to heat up quicker).

-  Prepare the food to be fried and place it in the basket. Ensure that the basket is only

filled to 3/4 of its capacity.

-  Allow the food to drain before placing it in the basket.

-  If the food is frozen, the food should be defrosted. The frying of frozen food or food with

significant water content can cause the oil to suddenly splash when submerging the

  basket in the oil container.

-  The pilot light will switch off to indicate that the oil has reached the correct temperature.

During the frying process, the pilot will switch on and off to maintain the selected

 temperature.

-  Slowly submerge the basket in the oil container to avoid overflowing and splashing. Fry

with the lid open or closed, as desired.

-  When the food has been fried sufficiently, remove the basket from the oil container and

position it on the support clip, to allow the excess oil to drain from the food (Fig. 4).

-  Empty the basket.

-  Change the oil after approximately 3 - 5 frying cycles, or when the oil starts to turn dark.

When re-using oil make sure that it has been strained to remove any food particles.

ALWAYS EXCERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN COOKING WITH A DEEP FAT

FRYER AND WHEN USING HOT OIL.

AFTER FRYING:

-  Select the minimum position “MIN” using the thermostat control dial.

-  Remove the plug from the wall socket.

-  Allow the oil and appliance to cool down completely.

-  Pour out the used oil at the designated slot, situated at the rear left corner, into a

  into a storage container.

-  Clean the oil container and basket with soapy water, then rinse with clean water and dry.

-  Place the basket inside the oil container. The basket handle can be left out or can be

  folded inside the basket.

-  To place the handle inside the basket, hold the basket firmly with one hand and use the

other hand to push the handle out of the slots.

-  Close the lid.

PRACTICAL ADVICE:

-  Fry a few pieces of bread to remove the smell of used oil.

-  For food with a high water content, it is better and quicker to fry the food in a lower

quantity. This will reduce the risk of oil splashes.

-  The “two-stage frying method” can be used for a more even and crispy coating.
