Problem Cause Action
Coffee only emerges from
the outlet in drips.
Grinding fineness is too fine. ƒ Set a coarser grinding fineness (see
section 6.8 on page 47).
Appliance is soiled.

Clean the brewing unit (see sec-
tion 7.3 on page 48).
ƒ
Run the cleaning programme (see
section 7.4 on page 49).
Appliance is covered inside
with limescale.
ƒ
Run the descaling program (see
section 7.5 on page 50).
Coffee does not flow. Water tank is not filled or is
not correctly inserted.
ƒ Fill the water tank and ensure it is
positioned correctly (see section 4.3
on page 40).
Brewing unit is clogged.

Clean the brewing unit (see sec-
tion 7.3 on page 48).
When foaming milk, there is
not enough milk foam.
Cappuccinatore is soiled.

Clean the Cappuccinatore (see sec-
tion 7.2 on page 48) .
Although the bean con-
tainer is full, the appliance
indicates that coffee beans
must be filled.
Coffee beans do not drop
into the grinder.
ƒ Press a direct key.

ƒ Press the "Coffee" direct key and the
"2 cups" button simultaneously for
more than 2 seconds.
The appliance initialises.

Software problem.

Brewing unit is not inserted. ƒ Insert and lock the brewing unit.
The display lights up with-
out having been activated:
Appliance is not fully
vented.

Vent the appliance, turn the rotary
regulator clockwise to the stop for
this. Once the Steam display lights up
permanently, turn the rotary regula-
tor anti-clockwise up to the stop.

Clean the brewing unit (see sec-
tion 7.3 on page 48).
