ABOUT SLOW COOKING
Slow cooking is particularly suitable for cooking
cheaper cuts such as shoulder, breast, shin,
braising steak, osso buco, etc., along with root
vegetables and other vegetables, as the long
cooking time at a low temperature makes the
meat both juicy and tender.
Some foods are not suitable for slow cooking.
Therefore, do not add shellfish, milk, cream or
pasta until shortly before the food is ready.
USE
1. Prepare the vegetables. Root vegetables
must be cut into uniform pieces and, if
necessary, sautéed for 2-3 minutes in a
frying pan. Place the vegetables in the bot-
tom of the ceramic bowl.
2. Prepare the meat. Remove any visible fat
from the meat and, if necessary, brown the
meat in a frying pan to seal in the juices.
Place the meat on top of the vegetables in
the ceramic bowl.
3. Add water, bouillon, stock, sauce or other
liquid so that the meat and vegetables are
covered. The ceramic bowl must be at
least half full but it should not be filled to
more than around 5 cm from the top.
4. If the ingredients are frozen, select the
AUTO setting. If the ingredients are fresh
or have been defrosted, select the LOW,
HIGH or AUTO setting.
5. For most dishes containing meat and veg-
etables, use the following cooking times.
Setting

8-10 hours

on a table mat and used to serve the food
from. Remember to use oven gloves!
