Check the air filter
Check that the main air filter (B) and the outer air filter (A) are clean and in good condition.
1.
Loosen the screw on the lid and remove the maintenance cover on the left side.
2.
Loosen the screw on the air filter cover (C), remove the air filter cover and check the main air
filter and outer filter.
3.
Clean or replace the main filter and/or outer filter as necessary.
NB
Never run the engine without the air filter. Engine wear increases substantially if contaminants such
as dust and dirt are sucked into the engine through the carburettor.
Starting the engine
NB
Disconnect any load on the AC and DC sockets before starting the engine.
1.
Open the vent valve on the fuel cap.
2.
Set the engine switch to the ON position.
3.
Set the choke lever in the START position.
NB
Do not use the choke when the engine is hot or
the air temperature is high.
4.
Pull out the starter handle until there is tension and then pull the starter handle quickly
outwards. Do not let the starter handle snap back, but hold it so that it is recoils slowly.
5.
Set the choke control to the RUN position once the engine is warm.
NB
If the engine turns off and it will not start, the engine’s oil level should be checked before more
troubleshooting is carried out.
Use at a high altitude
At a high altitude a standard mixture of air and fuel in the carburettor can be too powerful. Performance
decreases and fuel consumption increases. Performance at a high altitude can be improved by installing a fuel
nozzle with a smaller diameter in the carburettor. If the generator is always used at an altitude higher than
1,500 m above sea level, a fuel nozzle for high altitudes should be installed by an authorised dealer. Even with
a suitable mixture, the power of the engine decreases by about 3.5 % per 300 m height increases above sea
level. The altitude’s influence on the power of the engine increases if the carburettor is not modified at all.
