IMPORTANT:
Make the following checks before the machine is used for the first time, and before it is
used at the start of the season.
IMPORTANT:
Make the adjustments in a well ventilated area in accordance with the following
instructions.
Check the auger lever and make any the adjustments in a well ventilated area in accordance with the
following instructions.
1.
When the auger lever is in neutral (up) there should be very little play in the wire, but it must
not be overtightened.
2.
Stand in the driving position behind the handle and engage the auger.
3.
Allow the auger to remain engaged for about 10 seconds and then release the auger lever.
Repeat several times.
4.
Allow the engine to run with the auger lever in neutral. Go round in front of the machine.
5.
Check that the auger has completely stopped.
DRIVE LEVER AND GEAR LEVER
Check the functionality of the drive lever and gear lever in accordance with the instructions below.
1.
Switch off the engine and put the gear lever in the position for the highest forward gear.
Release the drive lever and push the machine forwards. The machine should roll forwards.
Press the drive lever. The wheels should stop turning.
2.
Release the drive lever and push the machine forwards again.
3.
Move the gear lever to the position for the highest reverse gear and back to the position for
the highest forward gear. The gear lever should move easily and the wheels should start
turning.
4.
If the gear lever is stiff, of if the wheels stop moving, loosen the lock nut on the drive lever
wire and extend the wire one turn of the nut.
5.
If the wheels do not stop moving when you press the drive lever, loosen the lock nut on the
drive lever wire and shorten the wire one turn of the nut.
6.
Repeat this check and readjust, if necessary. Tighten the lock nut when you have finished
adjusting.
STOPPING
1.
Remove the ignition key to prevent accidental or unauthorised starting. Keep the key in a safe
place. The engine cannot be started without the ignition key.
2.
Wipe all the controls on the engine dry.
