Battery-powered tool use and care
•
Make sure the power switch is in the OFF position before inserting the battery. Inserting a battery in a
power tool when the power switch is in the ON position increases the risk of accidents.
•
The battery must only be charged with the charger speci
fi
ed by the manufacturer. A charger intended for
one type of battery can pose a
fi
re risk if used with another type of battery.
•
Only use power tools with the speci
fi
ed batteries. The use of other batteries may pose a
fi
re risk or cause
personal injury.
•
When the battery is not being used, it must be kept away from other metal objects such as paperclips,
coins, keys, nails, screws and other small metal objects that can form a connection between two terminals.
Short circuiting the battery terminals can cause burns or a
fi
re.
•
Failure to handle the battery carefully can cause acid to leak from the battery. Avoid contact with the battery
acid. Rinse well with plenty of water if you come into contact with battery acid. Seek medical attention if you
get battery acid in your eyes. Acid leaking from the battery can cause irritation or burns.
Service
The power tool must only be serviced by quali
fi
ed service personnel using identical spare parts. This ensures
that the power tool remains safe.

fi
re and
electric shock.
Battery charger
•
Check the mains voltage. The mains voltage must correspond with the rated voltage on the battery charger
type plate. Battery charges marked with 230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
•
Do not expose the battery charger to rain or moisture. There is an increased risk of electric shock if water
gets into the charger.
• Keep the battery charger clean. Dirt and impurities increase the risk of electric shock.
•
Always check the battery charger, power cord and plug before use. Do not use the charger if it is damaged.
Do not attempt to open the battery charger. Repairs must only be carried out by an authorised service
centre or other quali
fi
ed personnel using identical spare parts. Damage to the battery charger, power cord
or plug increases the risk of electric shock.
•
Do not place the battery charger on a
fl
