Special safety instructions for the battery and charger
Under extreme conditions, acid can leak from the battery. Avoid contact with the battery acid. Rinse well
with plenty of water if you come into contact with battery acid. Seek medical attention if you get battery
acid in your eyes.
Check that the voltage indicated on the type plate corresponds to the mains supply voltage.
Do not charge the battery in the rain or in damp or wet areas.
The ambient temperature must not exceed 40°C. Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight.
Batteries that are defective or damaged, or that cannot be charged, must be disposed of in
accordance with the applicable regulations. A damaged cord must be replaced by an authorised
service centre or qualified person to ensure safe use.
Repairs must only be carried out by qualified personnel.
Only use batteries recommended by the manufacturer.
Keep the surface of the charger free from dust and dirt.
Insert the battery in the charger with the battery terminals facing in the right direction.
Always remove the battery before doing any work on the tool.
Cover the battery terminals when the battery is not in the tool, in order to avoid a short-circuit.
Do not discard batteries with household waste, into a fire or into water.
Do not knock or open the battery.
Never allow the battery to become completely discharged. Charge the battery regularly if it is not
being used for a long time.
Even if the tool is used in accordance with the instructions it is impossible to rule out all risk factors. The
following are potential risks that may be incurred as a result of the type and design of the tool.
1.
Damage to lungs (if effective face mask is not worn).
2.
Damage to ears (if effective ear protection is not worn).
3.
Vibration injuries (if the tool is used for long periods, or is not handled and maintained correctly).
WARNING
The tool produces an electromagnetic field during operation. This field can in some
circumstances affect active or passive medical implants. If you have a medical implant you should consult
your doctor and/or the manufacturer of the medical implant before using the tool to reduce the risk of
serious personal injury or death.
Wear ear protection
The declared vibration total value has been measured in accordance with a standard test method
and may be used for comparing one tool with another.
The declared vibration value may also be used in a preliminary assessment of exposure.
WARNING!
Vibration levels can deviate from the declared value during the actual use of the tool, depending on
how the tool is used.
It is necessary to identify suitable safety measures to protect the operator that are based on an
estimation of exposure in the actual conditions of use (taking account of all parts of the operating
cycle such as the times when the tool is switched off, when it is running idle and also the trigger
time).
