Overload protection
The tool has an overload protection. An status lamp comes on if the overload protection is tripped.
If the lamp flashes during the sawing, this means the tool is about to be overloaded. If the tool is
overloaded the lamp goes on and the tool switches off. You should then reduce the forward pressure on
the saw for best results. If the lamp comes on this means the tool is overloaded or has encountered an
obstacle. The tool switches off. Set the power switch in the Off position, and then switch on the tool.
MAINTENANCE
Using and maintaining power tools
1.
Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for the planned work. The tool does the job
better and safer when used at the rate for which it was designed.
2.
Do not use the tool if it cannot be switched on and off using the power switch. Power tools that
cannot be controlled with the power switch are dangerous and must be repaired.
3.
Always disconnect the power cord from the mains power before making any adjustments, changing
accessories or putting the power tool away. These safety precautions reduce the risk of accidently
starting the power tool.
4.
Store power tools out of the reach of children when not in use. Never allow children, or anyone who
is unfamiliar with the power tool and these instructions, to use the tool. Power tools are dangerous
if used by inexperienced people.
5.
Keep the power tool properly maintained. Make sure that moving parts are properly adjusted and
do not jam and that no parts are incorrectly fitted or damaged. Check for any other factors that
could influence functionality. If the power tool is damaged, it must be repaired before being used
again. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools. Properly maintained cutting
tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
6.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to jam and are easier to control.
7.
Use power tools, accessories, bits, etc., in accordance with these instructions, taking into account
actual working conditions and the work that is to be done. It can be dangerous to use power tools
for purposes other than those intended.
8.
Damaged controls must be repaired by an authorised service centre. Do not use the tool if it cannot
be switched on and off using the power switch.
9.
Power tools must never be left unattended when switched on. Always switch off the tool and wait
until it has completely stopped before leaving it.
10.
If the power cord has been damaged, it must be replaced with the correct type of power cord.
These power cords are available from the manufacturer or an authorised service centre. The power
cord must only be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorised service centre.
Service
1.
The power tool must only be repaired by an authorised service centre that uses original spare
parts. This ensures that the power tool functions correctly.
WARNING:
The use of accessories or attachments other than those recommended in these Operating
Instructions can result in personal injury. Only use original spare parts.
Cleaning and maintenance
Regular cleaning is necessary for the tool to operate safely. If too much dust builds up the tool will not
work properly. The chip ejection chute can become blocked and must be cleaned from time to time,
especially if sawing damp wood.
Unplug the power cord and remove the guard. Clean thoroughly with a small soft brush.
