OPERATION
Fitting and changing the saw blade
Only use sharp blades.
If the tool is not cutting as well as you expect, or if it saws slowly or unevenly, it is usually because the
blade is blunt.
Blades are consumable parts.
Always be careful when replacing blades as they can become hot and cause burn injuries.
1.
Switch off the tool, unplug the power cord, and wait until all moving
parts have stopped before carrying out maintenance, checks,
replacing accessories, or storing the tool.
2.
Remove the plastic cap (4) from the protective cover (fig. A).
3.
Insert the supplied hex key into the open end of the drive shaft and
press the lock button (10) for the shaft. Undo the screw clockwise
(fig. B).
4.
Remove the screw and flange (fig. C).
5.
Release the protective cover catch and lift the cover slightly.
Remove the saw blade (fig. D).
6.
Insert the new blade. The arrow on the blade must be pointing in
the same direction as the arrow on the cover. Check that the shaft
hole in the centre of the blade aligns precisely with the outer ring on
the inner flange.
7.
Screw the screw back together with the outer flange. Lock the shaft
with the button (10) and tighten the screw anti-clockwise.
8.
Finally check that the blade is correctly positioned in the opening.
Saw depth
1.
Set the cutting depth, in millimetres, using the set screw (3).
Unscrew the set screw, slide the depth stop to the required position
and screw in the screw when the end is in line with the required
digit on the scale.
2.
The scale of the depth setting has long lines for whole millimetres
and short lines for half.
3.
For best results when sawing wood, the cutting depth should be
slightly more than the thickness of the workpiece.
4.
When sawing plastic, the cutting depth should be slightly more than
the thickness of the workpiece. If the plastic starts to melt, increase
the depth for better results.
5.
For best results when sawing metal, set the cutting depth 1.0 mm more than the thickness of the
workpiece.
6.
To prevent making marks on the surface when sawing wood or plastic, set the saw to a cutting
depth equal to the thickness of the material. However, this may produce slightly uneven edges on
the underside of the workpiece.
