applied. Because solder bridges cause short circuiting on circuit
boards, they must be removed by drawing the soldering tip
straight through the bridge.
MAINTENANCE
Maintenance of the soldering pen preserves its correct
functionality and increases its life span.
DURING USE
• Pull out the plug when the soldering pen is not in use to
counteract oxidisation of the soldering tip.
DURING STORAGE
• Tin the soldering tip as described in the section Tinning the
tip.
• Do not pull the power cord to pull out the plug.
TROUBLESHOOTING
THE SOLDER DOES NOT MELT
1. Wait another five minutes to allow the soldering tip to warm
up. If the solder still does not melt, go to step 2.
2. Touch the soldering tip with a wet sponge.
• Result 1: The soldering tip is correctly heated if steam
develops and there is a hissing sound. Continue to step 3.
