Unpacking and placing the unit

Remove all packaging material including the transport cardboard in the CD-
compartment.
ATTENTION!
To avoid danger of suffocation, do not let young children play with
plastic bags!
Place the unit on a flat, firm surface. Make sure that
the ventilation slots at the rear are not covered in order to guarantee sufficient
ventilation;
no strong heat affects the unit;
the unit is not exposed to direct sunlight;
the unit does not come into contact with liquids, including dripping or splash
water.
Connecting the power
The unit can be operated from mains power or with batteries.
AC power operation

Connect the mains plug to the AC socket at the unit and to an easily accessible
mains socket 230 V ~ 50 Hz. To avoid tripping, do not use an extension lead.
Battery operation
`
Open the battery compartment by pushing the lid backwards downwards by
the catches.

Insert six 1,5-V-batteries (size C/LR14) and observe the polarities (the minus-pole
touches the spring).

Close the battery compartment.
Check the contents of the box
After unpacking the product, make sure that the following items are supplied:
CD radio unit
Mains lead
Instruction manual with guarantee card
