Remove the plug from the socket after each use, before clean-
ing and during periods when the appliance is left unattended.
Do not kink or crush the mains cable.
Disconnect the mains cable when you are not using the appli-
ance, cleaning the appliance or if a fault occurs.
Always remove the mains cable from the socket by grasping
the plug – do not pull the cable itself.
Avoid the use of extension cables in order to prevent tripping.
This appliance may not be operated on an external timer or
a separate remote control system (e.g. a remote-controlled

4.3. Handling the appliance safely

Do not use the appliance under any circumstances when
there is visible damage to the appliance, the mains cable or
the plug.
Do not insert any foreign bodies or packaged foods (e.g. alu-
minium foil or cling film) into the slots.
Never put your fingers into the slots. Hold the casing by the
sides when you are transporting the appliance.

Slices of bread and other baked goods can catch fire.
Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation.
Do not insert any foreign bodies or packaged foods (e.g. alu-
minium foil or cling film) into the slots.
Always use the toaster in conjunction with the crumb tray.
